Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why is it best to have our engagement shoot at the venue?

A. Familiarity with the venue and its grounds can save a lot of time on the wedding day. We will already have an idea of the best locations to do group shots and scouted out secluded areas for images of the Bride and Groom alone. Also, it gives you the chance to get used to being photographed intimately, and you get some great photos to add to your invitations, thank you notes, etc.

Q. Photographers seem to offer different styles of photography, what is the difference?

A. Formal - The images are of traditional/posed group shots.

Reportage - Documenting the day through candid images, with less posing.

My style is a mixture of the two. However, I try to keep the number of group shots to a minimum as they can be time consuming and the guests just want to go and celebrate.

The day is more about you, and I want to capture the best photographs of you together.

Q. Are there any hidden costs?

A. No. I like to offer straightforward pricing, with no hidden extras. This allows you to create the perfect photography package for your wedding at the right price. Things like colour correction/post editing are included in the price of my attendance.

Q. How many photographs do you take on the day?

A. I don’t aim to take a specific number. It can be anything from over 500 up to 1200 images. However, you won’t get them all, as there will always be “blinkers”, or many variations of the same shot. You will get anything over 350 photos at the end.

Q. Will I get a disc of all the final images for me to print myself?

A. Yes, you will get a beautiful USB full of hi-res images. But, a word of advice, to get the best out of your wedding images, it is better to get them printed by professional photographic printers. The quality of ink and paper used there, plus they can colour balance the images are well worth it and won’t disappoint.

Q. Are you insured?

A. Yes, I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance. It is also a good idea for you to have wedding insurance yourself.

Q. What happens if your camera fails?

A. As I have more than one camera with me, if one fails, then I have my second camera. In the unlikely event of both cameras failing, I will beg, borrow or “steal” a spare camera.

Q. I want to book you, what next?

A. To secure your date, I would require a non-refundable deposit of £200. The balance will need to be paid no later than 30 days before the wedding.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. I take a holding deposit when you book which is transferable to another date but non refundable for out right cancellation of a wedding, unless I can book another wedding on that date.

Q. Do we have do decide on getting an album when we book you?

No. Budgetting for a wedding can be hard, plus you never know how generous your guest can be. I am very flexible, and you can decide after your wedding if you want an album. I also offer gift vouchers for your guests to purchase that can then be used towards your album if you decide afterwards.

Q. When will I get to see the final images?

A. I aim to get them online on a password protected page about 2 weeks after the wedding. However, this may be longer during busier times. Album designs will be about 6 – 8 weeks after the wedding, with the final album being ready shortly afterwards.

Q. Can I have lo-res photographs to email friends and people at work?

A. Yes. However, you will also be given a link to the online gallery, which is on a password protected page for you to email to those who couldn’t make the wedding.
